System Requirements & Recommendations

Network

· Use switches. Hubs are not recommended

· Wireless networks of any type are not recommended

· * Cabling CAT5

· * All Network adapters must be 100 Megabit and should be brand names (i.e. 3Com, Intel, etc.)

Note: Peer-to-Peer networks, because of performance issues, are not recommended but can be used for systems with

less than 5 users.

Hardware

SERVER

· * CD-ROM Drive

· RAM 512 MB recommended

· Pentium IV or faster processor

· *Monitor – Must Support 800 x 600 true color minimum

· Software installation requires 135 MB of free space on the server. (No Data)

· 20 GB Hard Drive (Depends on the size of your Company)

· Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Novell 6.0 (Verify that all service packs and upgrades have been applied)

WORKSTATIONS

· CD-ROM Drive

· 10 GB Hard Drive

· RAM 512 MB recommended (minimum 256 MB)

· Pentium III or faster processor

· Software installation requires 35 MB of free space on each workstation

· Windows 2000, Windows XP Pro

· Monitor Must Support 800 x 600 true color minimum (17” or better recommended)

CLIENT/SERVER Databases - Visual LOADPlus running with a client server database may require

slightly different requirements then above.

Laser printers are recommended. Inkjet printers are not suggested because they are not commercial grade printers,

however, they may work. Due to hardware and software compatibility issues, we do NOT RECOMMEND combination printers/faxes/copiers. Dot matrix printers are NOT RECOMMENDED because Microsoft Windows® is graphical in

nature. Printing can be extremely slow if you use a dot matrix printer.

These suggestions are provided to you based on known Visual LOADPlus software and hardware requirements as of the

above date. In making your decisions, you should take into consideration other software and environmental issues that may

impact the above. Actual requirements will vary based on your system configuration and other applications and features you

choose to install. 

You must also have *Symantec pcAnywhere Software 11.0 or higher installed on your system. We highly recommend you

have a broadband Internet connection in conjunction with pcAnywhere. pcAnywhere is used for training and for ongoing

customer support.
